step out of the boat
We all have a boat that we paddle around in – even if the boat is uncomfortable or scary, it’s still a familiar place with certain boundaries in which we go about our daily lives.
What does your boat look like —
- Are you comfortable?
- Do you feel like life is over and your dreams have expired?
- Are you questioning if God is still paying attention?
- Has your boat lost direction or drifted off-course?
step forward
Every time we make a decision, achieve a goal, or move forward, the process of stepping out of the boat toward growing spiritually involves these 4 steps:
1. stand up [God speaks to me]
2. step out [I am ready to follow God]
3. start walking [I walk in faith]
4. seize the storm [I trust God’s plan]
spiritual practices
The best way to get to know God and His plans for you is to spend time with Him daily.
Carve out time in your schedule to practice spiritual disciplines like:
- Reading your Bible
- Praying
- Meditating through Centering Prayer
- Journaling
- Spend quiet time walking through a labyrinth or prayer garden
- Organize your schedule to create a Sabbath Day or Day of Rest
This is just a short list of ideas!
